Leaf Lickers

There was a lot of traffic in town last Friday. I said it looks like the "leaf lookers" are in town. Sam said, "leaf lickers?", trying to understand who these strange people were.

I joined the pack, but dodged the traffic. Just down the road about four miles from my house is a new section of the Superior Hiking Trail. Ironically, the trail leads to the road of my long time hiking partner, Cat (pictured). Before kids, we'd camp for the weekend and tick off sections of the Superior Hiking Trail. One of my favorite, last big weekends was when I only had one six month old at home. It involved two hikes on two different days, a trip to the bar to see a band, and a neighbor annoying drive back to our campsite at 2am. Ah, those were the days.

Now we grab a half a day when we can, and are thankful for the opportunity. Ray and Susan joined us on this hike. It was the kind of beautiful day that recharges the soul.
