Happy Mission Accomplished Day!!

Yes, it was five years ago today that President Bush stood in his flight suit on the USS Abraham Lincoln and declared, "Mission Accomplished." I won't get into the numbers of Americans, Iraqis or our friends in the "coalition of the willing" that have died since that mission was accomplished.

I'd just like to put a quote here from Chris Matthews, five years ago, as he observed President Bush. And they wonder why we distrust the media.

"[T]he president deserves everything he's doing tonight in terms of his
leadership. He won the war. He was an effective commander. Everybody recognizes
that, I believe, except a few critics. ... Here's a president who's really
nonverbal. He's like Eisenhower. He looks great in a military uniform."
